Annoyer- A Pokemon who uses moves designed to disrupt an opponent, or to, well annoy. Some common annoying moves are Confuse Ray, Attract, and Protect.

Atmacune-A now defunct set for Suicune which consists of the moves: Rest, Return, Roar, Curse.

Baton Passer- A Pokemon which learns stat raising moves, and passes them to another Pokemon via Baton Passing. Some well known Baton Passers are Ninjask and Girafarig, although most Eeveelutions can be used as baton passers.

Bellyzard: A moveset for Charizard consisting of Belly Drum, Substitute, Fire Punch/Flare Blitz, and a filler. The principle idea behind this set, is to use belly drum, which maximizes attack, which will activate blaze, allowing Charizard to decimate opponents with insanely powerful fire attacks.

BL- Borderline: A tier between UU and OU, designated for Pokemon who are too strong for UU, but are not strong enough for OU play.

Bliss-Blissey

Boltbeam/Boltbeamer-A Moveset consisting of Ice Beam and Thunderbolt. It is very effective, and can hit all Pokemon except Shedinja, Volt Absorb Lanturn, and the Magnemite family.

Bomber/Suicide- A Pokemon which knows either Self-Destruct, or Explosion. The purpose behind them, is to cause problems for the enemy, and then explode when they are near death. Some Pokemon capable of doing this are Forretress, and, the most infamous one, Electrode.

Bulbapedia- A Pokemon Wikipedia that contains general information about Pokemon related subjects, including anime, manga, and of course, the games.

C

Calmcune- A destructive moveset designed for Suicune, which contains Calm Mind, the purpose behind being, to charge up with calm minds, and then destroy the enemy with special attacks.

ChainChomp-A Mixed Sweeper version of a Garchomp, with the moves Draco Meteor and Fire Blast, designed to suprise physical walls.

Choice Itemer- A Pokemon who holds a Choice Band, Choice Specs, or Choice Scarf for Physical, Special, and priority attacking, respectively.

Chomp-Garchomp

Clause- Any of a set of rules designed to level the playing field in competitive battling.

Cleric-A Pokemon with the move Aromatherapy/Heal Bell, designed to cure the status problems of all Pokemon in your party. Usually Clerics have the ability, Natural Cure, so that they can heal themselves before entering a battle. Some well known clerics are Parasect (lolwut?), and Blissey.

Counter-A Pokemon with either the move Counter, Mirror Coat, or Metal Burst, designed to take damage and reflect it back at the enemy. Heracross, the Tyrogue family, and Wobbufett all can make use of this.

Counter(2)- A moveset designed to counter another.

Curselax- A pokemon, usually Snorlax, which uses Curse to pump up it's stats, while negating the effects of speed loss. This can become dangerous if it is not destroyed quickly. Torterra and the Slowpoke family may also make use of this.

DNite-Dragonite

Double Rester-A now defunct moveset which makes use of Rest and Double Team. Evasion clause prevents this moveset from being used in standard battling.

Dragon Dancer-Any Pokemon that uses dragon dance: Usually Gyarados or Salamence.

 

E

Endureversal-A Pokemon with the move Endure, and the move Flail or Reversal, designed to attack for massive damage. They usually use a salac berry. Heracross, Lucario, and Seaking can make use of this.

Eeveelution-One of the 7 evolutions of Eevee: Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, and Glaceon.

 EV's-Effort Values-Used in competitive Battling. Each Pokemon can have 510 EV's in total, with a maximum of 255 Invested in each stat. You earn EV's by defeating Pokemon. 4 EV's invested in a stat will raise it by 1 Point. The maximum number of Points a stat can be raised is 63.

F

 Fail-Luvdisc

F.E.A.R- F**king Evil Attack Rodent- A Pokemon, such as Rattata, equipped with a focus sash, which knows Endeavor and Quick Attack. It is designed to be OHKO'd, then, uses the Focus Sash to save it, after which it uses endeavor to reduce the enemies HP to 1, and then knocks it out with Quick Attack. Starly, Phanphy (Ice Shard), and Rattata all use this. It can be countered with a priority move.

Fishy-A Moveset which contains 2 1HKO moves, Sleep Talk, and Rest. OHKO Clause bans this team from Standard play.

Flinchax/Flinchaxorz-A Pokemon with Thunderwave, and a Flinching move, such as bite or Zen Headbutt, designed to make an enemy miss 45% of the time. Serene grace raises the chances of success from 45% to 80%, making Togekiss and Dunsparce some of the most feared Pokemon in the game.

Glass Cannon-A Pokemon with incredible offenses but mediocre speed and defense (Synonomous with Rampardos)

NU-Neverused. A tier of Competitive battling which consists of Pokemon too weak for UU play. Luvdisc is one of the most lolable NU Pokemon.

OU-Over Used. The Standard Tier of competitive play. This tier consists of Pokemon too powerful for BL play, but but weak enough to be excluded from Uber. This tier consists of some of the most feared Pokemon in the game.

Pseudo-Passer-A Moveset with Wish, Light Screen, and/or Reflect. These moves affect other Pokemon in your party, as well as the ones that are present.

Pseudo-Hazer (Phazer)-A Pokemon with Whirlwind or Roar. Designed to counter Baton Passers and Curselax. This can be used in tandem with Spikes or Stealth Rock.

Restalker - a Pokemon with rest and Sleep Talk. Designed to hit the Enemy while Asleep.

Seeker-A Pokemon with a move that will always hit (IE Aura Sphere).

Shuffler-Moveset with Roar or Whirlwind. Can be combined with will-o-wisp and toxic to cause passive damage.

Skarm-Skarmory

Skarmbliss-An infamous combination of Skarmory and Blissey, designed to wall physical and special walls, respectively.

Skarmblisscress-A renovation of Skarmbliss, which includes Cresselia, which can block both physical and special hits.

Sleeptalker-A Pokemon with the move Sleep Talk. Often combined with rest. Synonomous with Restalker.

Specs-Mence-A Salamence Using Choice Specs. It usually knows Draco Meteor, Fire Blast, Hydro Pump and Dragon Pulse.

Spiker-A Pokemon with the move Spikes. Some also utilize Will o wisp and Toxic.

Spinner-A Pokemon with Rapid Spin. Designed to counter spinners.

Sponge-Any Pokemon with great defenses (Blissey/Skarmory/Cresselia)

Sporepuncher-A Breloom moveset, which consists of Spore,Focus Punch, and two fillers.

STAB-Same Type Attack Bonus-Using a move of the same type as the Pokemon will increase a moves power by 50%. (Earthquake on a ground-type will do a base damage of 150)

Staller/Toxistaller/Pyrostaller-A Pokemon with Protect and Toxic/Will-o-wisp intended to stall enemies into switching or fainting.

Stealth Rocker-A Pokemon with Stealth Rocks.

Subpuncher-A Pokemon with Substitute and Focus Punch.

Sunnybeamer-A moveset that uses Sunny Day and Solarbeam. Can be used in conjunction with Chlorophyll and Morning Sun. Can counter Thunderdancers.

Sweeper-A Pokemon with high offensive stats and speed combined with mediocre defenses, designed to knock out as many opponents as possible before fainting itself. It comes in three variation-Physical, Special, and Mixed. A sweeper may also be defined as a Pokemon who powers up, and then 1HKO's multiple Pokemon.

Tank-A Pokemon with high defenses and usually Toxic. Designed to counter sweepers.

Terra-Torterra

Thunderdancer-A Pokemon with Rain Dance and Thunder. Usually combined with Swift Swim, Volt Absorb, or Water Absorb. Can counter Sunnybeamers.

Trapper-A Pokemon designed to trap an enemy and sap their strength through Toxic.

Trick Bander-A Pokemon with Choice Band and Trick, designed to ruin Pokemon who use stat boosting moves by trading their Choice Band for the enemies Item.

Trickbracer-Similar to the above moveset, only replacing the Choice Band for Macho Brace, which cuts speed.

Tyraniboah-A Special-oriented moveset for Tyranitar with a combination of Boltbeam and Subpuncher.
